Signs I Can Tell My Body is Physically and Mentally Aligned and Healthy

Have you ever wondered whether your body is working optimally? Day-to-day the body speaks to us in many ways. Sometimes the signs and symptoms are very subtle. Sometimes they're more obvious. Sometimes the symptoms become so familiar, we don't think much of them over time. Are you paying attention? Those daily symptoms mean something and it's good to ask "why?" Investigate the potential root cause.

8 Signs I Can Tell My Body is Physically and Mentally Aligned and Healthy

1. HEALTHY SKIN THAT ALLOWS ME TO GO MAKE-UP FREE

When my skin gets a pimple, I know it's because of something I've eaten or something I need to deal with on an emotional level. Ice cream and sugar have always made my skin break out. I wish I knew this in my teens and 20's! The imbalanced gut microbiome certainly impacted my monthly hormonal shifts, and only worsened the breakouts. Now I don't eat ice cream and sugar nearly as often and my skin is much healthier with very few breakouts.

2. VERY LITTLE to NO PHYSICAL PAIN IN MY BODY

When I eat too much sugar, I wake up in the morning with achy ankles, hips, and hands. Why? Sugar is very inflammatory and it impacts my joints. Waking up with little to no physical pain in my body is a great health indicator of more normal inflammatory levels.

Four things I've noticed cause various types of physical pain in my body:

  • Not stretching enough (ie: going without yoga for too long)

  • Too much sitting. I learned through experimenting that I must stand up to work - all day, every day. I do not sit for more than an hour a day total.

  • Holding onto emotional "junk" for too long shows up in my body, especially my shoulders and lower back.

  • Too much sugar or junk food – I feel it in the morning because I wake up feeling really achy upon my first step out of bed.

  • Too much salt makes my eyes puffy.

3. PLENTY OF ENERGY THROUGHOUT THE DAY TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT I WANT

A massive influence on this energy level thing is quality sleep, giving myself 12 hours of not-eating (typically 7pm to 7am), and doing the things that light me up on a daily basis. In Human Design, I am a Manifesting Generator. My energy level thrives off doing what I love. I feel the energy pouring out of me when I'm doing things I love. Here is my process for determining what lights me up and what sucks the energy out of me.

4. A REGULAR, PAIN-FREE MENSTRUAL CYCLE

Having a consistent menstrual cycle is a normal thing for me, but I've had friends who had some pretty terrible PMS symptoms.

5. A DIGESTIVE SYSTEM I RARELY THINK ABOUT

I have to nourish this one daily. I used to have digestive troubles like bloating and gas, and it was definitely related to eating certain things in my diet, especially sugar or dried fruit. I have found solutions that work for me, such as eliminating sugar, using a digestive bitter by Organic Olivia, drinking plenty of water, including high fiber foods every day, and taking a quality Magnesium supplement as needed.

6. A CALM MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL STATE

For me, I must include stress-reducing activities and exercise daily, prioritize doing things that light me up and fuel me intrinsically and be discerning about the social media I read.

7. DRY ARMPITS

Hello, cortisol sweat from adrenal stimulation! You know, that feeling when your pits are sweaty, but you're not stressed out. For me, too much caffeine and uncomfortable emotional encounters trigger this.

8. A TIGHT CONNECTION WITH MY TRIBE

My people are everything to me. I love seeing a friend, talking to a friend, or texting a friend every day. I make a point to reach out if someone pops into my head. I know I'm a healthier person mentally, emotionally, and physically when I have spent time nurturing and growing my friendships and relationships with my family.

Do you resonate with any of these? Drop me a comment. I'd love to hear from you.
