Track Your Blood Sugar with a
Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)
No Prescription or Diagnosis Required
Over the past four years, I've worked with many nutrition clients who have used a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) to track their blood sugar, and the insights have been a game-changer, especially when it comes to weight loss. In fact, I prefer to work with clients who are wearing a CGM because the data is invaluable! It takes all the guesswork out of wondering how food and lifestyle actually impact your body.

What is a CGM?
A CGM is a small sensor you place in the back of your arm. It tracks your blood sugar 24/7 without any fingersticks.
With real-time data, you can see how your body responds to specific foods, beverages, alcohol, food combinations, portion sizes, and meal timing. The CGM data also allows you to observe how stress, exercise, and sleep affect blood sugar.
That’s why I’m excited to share a new opportunity👏🏼
No Prescription Required
Through a company called Theia Health, anyone can order a CGM—without a prescription and without needing a specific diagnosis! This is HUGE!
Until now, getting a prescription for a CGM has been difficult unless you had a pre-diabetes diagnosis. Many of my clients asked their doctors for a CGM prescription and were told no.
Here's How Acquiring a CGM Works
Here’s how it works:

-
Fill out a short questionnaire (height, weight, birthday, etc.) You will be approved.
-
Receive your CGM sensors by mail
-
Start tracking and learning!
You can view your blood sugar data on a desktop or mobile app. In your Theia personal dashboard, you are also able to log food/activity/feelings, which allows you to spot patterns and trends in your blood sugar response so you can make appropriate modifications. To log your food information, you can type it in or upload a photo.
Your dashboard shows key glucose metrics, and each day you will receive a daily score based on how long it took your glucose to stabilize, your peak glucose levels, and your average 24-hour glucose.

Why Blood Sugar Tracking Matters
Your blood sugar is one of the most important markers of long-term health. I’ve seen clients:
✔️ Reduce inflammation
✔️ Lower HgbA1C
✔️ Achieve sustainable weight loss
✔️ Improve energy, focus, and sleep
✔️ Improve insulin sensitivity
✔️ Gain food awareness—learn exactly which foods work for or against your body
For women, I love using CGM data in sync with the 28-day menstrual cycle, since blood sugar and hormone balance are deeply connected.
What is the Cost for 30 Days of Tracking with a CGM?
Theia offers CGMs on a flexible month-to-month basis. No long-term commitment required.
When you register, you can choose between two trusted CGM brands: Freestyle Libre or Dexcom G7. I have worked with and recommend both options.
You can purchase one sensor at a time for $99, but here are options for a 30-day supply:
-
TWO Freestyle Libre sensors: $198 (one sensor lasts 14 days)
-
THREE Dexcom G7 sensors: $297 (one sensor lasts 10 days)
Additionally, there's a one-time Theia $99 activation fee. HSA/FSA Cards are an accepted payment method.
This is a very good price! You don't have to pay for a doctor's office visit to ask for a Rx, and the CGM prices at the pharmacy are much higher.
Curious to Know Where You Insert the CGM?
The only FDA approved location for the CGM is the back of the upper arm. Avoid placing the sensor directly over the muscle. The best location to apply your sensor is in the fatty part of the back of your upper arm, in the river between your tricep and deltoid muscle. Watch the application video below to see exactly where to apply the sensor.
